Winner of the consultation launched by the AP-HP for the transformation of the Hôtel-Dieu in Paris, covering one-third of its surface area, Novaxia relies on a team led by Anne Demians and Pierre Antoine Gatier and entrusts Manifesto with the management of the artistic and cultural programming. The project will have a triple dimension: social, economic, and health-related, in addition to the medical project led by AP-HP.

In the context of the Hôtel-Dieu transformation project, the AP-HP, alongside the City of Paris, initiated a consultation in November 2017 for the conclusion of a construction lease. The winning consortium, led by Novaxia, is supported by investors Amundi and Poste Habitat, along with a diverse team of architects and designers led by Anne Demians and Pierre Antoine Gatier, Chief Architect of Historic Monuments, including LBA and Constance Guisset Studio.

The project will have a triple dimension: social, economic, and health-related, aiming to amplify the influence of Hôtel-Dieu by opening an exceptional site for research and innovation, in addition to the medical and hospital project led by AP-HP. Three poles will be established: a "health" pole featuring the first European "Biotech/Medtech/AI" incubator accommodating over a hundred companies in 10,000 square meters; a "solidarity housing" pole that will house a social student residence; and finally, a "commercial attractiveness" pole with a diverse range of dining and retail options that will enhance the vibrancy of this iconic location.

Culture and artistic creation related to research and health will be pervasive; they will connect with the public, the community, the medical field, and the existing Art & Health programs. Manifesto will provide artistic and strategic direction for the project, as well as production of artistic and cultural activities with the first collaborating entities: Arts et Santé association, Cité Internationale des Arts, Maison de la Poésie, Micadanses, 95° and Quantique Média, Réunion des Musées Nationaux-Grand Palais, Thanks for nothing. Manifesto will also establish a foundation dedicated to culture, research, and innovation.

Hôtel-Dieu will host a strong artistic and sensory journey. The building itself will become a venue for artistic expression – theater, dance, readings, installations, exhibitions, and more – shaping the seasonality of this new versatile living space by inviting different perspectives to engage with the monument and with the cultural initiatives of AP-HP.
